It's that time, our lovelies!! The due date for submissions is post-nigh (I'm not sure if that's the accurate way to say "here", but it looks cool).

To submit, just send an e-mail to reeltorchwood at gmail dot com. Please put in the subject line your LJ handle and the title of the film prompt you claimed. Then attach your fic to it. You can attach as a pdf, doc or docx. Please let us know if you have a preferred post date or an "I definitely can't post" date. We will send e-mails with your posting date either Saturday or Sunday; both your mods are in Pacific time in the U.S. if that helps you at all. We are looking to have submissions start posting on Monday the 28th.

If you do not receive an e-mail with your posting date by Monday the 28th, comment on this post. The gmail apparently ate jolinarjackson's e-mail, so the only way we knew we missed their submission was because they posted a comment asking about it (and thank you for that, by the way!). We want to make sure that, if this happens again, we know it happened.

If you need an extension, please let us know what your projected completion date is. If your submission is done, but still in the hands of your beta, submit it as-is, but put in the body of your e-mail that your beta still has it and let us know when you think you'll have the completed fic back and ready to post. If an extension will not help you and you need to drop out, we understand, just let us know. Also, if the muses/bunnies bite you this weekend after you've told us you're dropping out, but now you have it done and want to drop back in, let us know--we will find a spot in the schedule for you!

Again, we try to be as laid back as we can--the point of this comm is to generate new fic, so if you think a slight extension (less than 2 weeks) will help or if you suddenly find yourself at 3:00am with a finished fic after you've dropped out, let us know; we are happy to find a way to get your fic posted here.

And to save posts, this lovely post gives you all the info you need for when it comes time to post your fic.

Thank you all again for participating; this is shaping up to be one of our best rounds in a long time!

This is the official "How to submit your work" post for the first due date of September 17.

It is super easy. Just send an e-mail to reeltorchwood at gmail dot com. Please put in the subject line your LJ handle and the title of the film prompt you claimed. Then attach your fic to it. You can attach as a pdf, doc or docx. Please let us know if you have a preferred post date or a "I definitely can't post" date. We are looking to have the submissions from today start posting Monday the 21st. We will have e-mails with posting dates out this weekend--hopefully Saturday, but definitely by Sunday morning. Both your mods are in Pacific time in the U.S. if that helps you at all.

And to save posts, this lovely post gives you all the info you need for when it comes time to post your fic.

After hearing from roughly 95% of you guys, we have decided on the following course of action:

We had several authors who have their fic finished and are ready to submit (it should be noted that all these authors said a push was fine with them, so THANK YOU!). Therefore, we are keeping the posting date September 17th for those authors who feel they are ready. What this means is that if you want to submit tomorrow, you absolutely can (we'll do a post tomorrow with submission instructions). Once we have all the submissions for tomorrow, we'll set up a posting schedule for those fics. We are aiming to have 2-3 fics posted per week. This way, people who are following this challenge because they want shiny new fic to read will be able to start reading fic in our original slated posting time.

For everyone else, the new due date is September 24th. When the 24th rolls around, we will do a post with instructions of how to submit your finished fic, as well as a post for those who are going to have to ask for an extension. From the comments we saw over the past few days, I don't imagine we will need many extensions.

If you are done with your fic but want to wait and submit your fic on the 24th, you are under no obligation to submit tomorrow; it is entirely your decision.

We think this arrangement will work best for everyone--creators, readers and mods.

Thank you for your input, patience and talent,

Your loving mods

Hello, our lovely ducklings!

The due date for fics is fast approaching--this Thursday, the 17th (EEP!). My lovely co-mod, bookwrm89, and I figured we'd do a post today to see how everyone feels--is the 17th a good date or should we push back a week, to the 24th? We thought we'd throw the question out now to relieve the stress if some of you were panicking because you need a bit more time to make it GORGEOUS.

Please hit us up here with your comments and we'll see where we stand.
We have come to that time in Screening 8 where we ask all of our writers to please check in with how you're doing, if you think you're going to finish, or need a bit more time.  Unlike our previous check in post, this one is mandatory.  Just post a quick comment to let us know where you are in the process!

Thank you!
You're welcome for the earworm. And if you didn't get it, I'm sorry for your childhood.

It has been brought up that a beta post would be helpful for this round, so here goes. Also, I would like to say thank you and awesomesauce to the authors who were volunteering as betas and to swap fics as betas in the comments on the check-in post. That's the kind of solidarity I love seeing in this fandom.

Please comment here if you NEED a beta or are willing to BE a beta. To make it easier for us all, please put "NEED BETA" or "BETA NEEDED" or something involving those two words in combination (or along the lines of Holding Out for a Beta) in the subject line of your comment.

If you are volunteering to be a beta, please put "BETA VOLUNTEER" or "WANT TO BETA" or a similar combination (along the lines of I Volunteer as Beta!) in the subject line.

I'll do another post in a few days detailing who still needs a beta and who is still looking.

If you are signed up for the challenge and don't comment on this post, we'll presume you have a beta.

If something happens later on and your beta runs off to Maui to get married and you need a replacement, either comment here or hit up the mods at the Ask a Producer post.

Pixie dust and caffeine,

Hello my crazy monkeys!

I am taking a quick break from my obsessive marathoning of Lip Sync Battle (Which, if you haven't seen, get on that!) to post this check-in post.

This post is completely voluntary and NOT mandatory. We just want to see how everyone is doing and if you are still crazily excited about your fic! So if you have a sec, hit us up with a comment to let us know how things are going!

Good morning, my ducklings!

Sign-ups for Screening 8 are officially closed! If you missed the window because you were vacationing/internet got eaten/horrible things happened that your attorney says you should not comment on, drop a line to the mods on the Ask A Producer post. Depending on how far out we are from the posting deadline, we can probably make room!

Below, please find the films that have been claimed. Please take a moment to be sure you are on the list and that your name is next to the correct title. Your mods are very excited about this round!

If you have any questions or issues that come up, hit us up at the Ask A Producer post. We'll get back to you as quickly as we can.

ETA: Sorry for the lack of a cut, but effing LJ keeps putting it after people's names and no amount of screaming will fix it.
